Jailbird sentenced to five years imprisonment

Juaso (Ash), Dec 20, GNA – A 20-year-old man from Obogu who stole 78,000 from a drinking bar has been sentenced to five years imprisonment.

Kwaku Baah Wiredu, an ex-convict, pleaded guilty on two counts of unlawful entry and stealing.

Chief Inspector Benjamin Amoah, prosecuting, told the court that on December 12 the barkeeper closed his bar at 2230 hours and locked the gates.

Later a beverage seller at Obogu Lorry Park saw Wiredu enter the bar through an opening.

The police were informed and Wiredu was arrested in the bar, hiding under two plastic chairs and when he was searched the money was found on him
