Irate traders clash with Police at Kantamanto again

Angry traders at the Kantamanto market have clashed again with a combined team of Police and Military personnel who attempted to overtake the burnt market.

Reports indicate that the Police and Military team are firing tear gas to break up the traders who are preventing the government from rebuilding the market.

Thousands of angry traders have sworn to prevent the government from taking over the market. XYZ News’ Ibrahim Alhassan reports that the angry traders are also pelting the police with stones and metals.

The traders allege that they suspect the government wants to rebuild the market and sell off the place. According to the traders, they are ready to rebuild the market on their own with their own capital.

The Kantamanto market was completely razed down on Sunday in a devastating fire. Some of the traders told XYZ News they suspect government officials deliberately set fire to the place just to evict them.
