Interior Minister blames parliament for “Fulani menace”

Minister for Interior, Ambrose Derry is blaming parliament for the nation’s inability to address the Fulani herdsmen menace.

Contributing to a statement by Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Andy Appiah-Kubi, the minister charged parliament to enact legislation to kerb the havoc perpetrated through activities of the Fulani herdsmen.

Speaking to GHOne News after proceedings, the member of parliament for Asante Akyem Central constituency, Kwame Anyimadu Antwi whose constituency has also suffered at the hands of Fulanis called for the cattle of the herdsmen to be killed.

According to him, the move will rid the affected communities of the menace. Anyimadu-Antwi adds, over 30 residents have lost their lives to the development so far

The speaker has however referred the matter to the interior committee for investigations.
