Wenchi (B/A), April 9, GNA – Mr Yaw Adjei-Duffour, Deputy Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, has warned that people who incite others against the government would be made to face the full rigours of the law.
Addressing a durbar of the chiefs and people of Wenchi Traditional Area to climax their week-long Apoo festival, Mr Adjei-Duffour said government would not tolerate acts of indiscipline and lawlessness among the youth as such behaviour was greatly affecting national development efforts.
The durbar was on the theme: “Mobilizing the people to initiate development programmes and the need for tolerance during the December general election to ensure peace among the people”.
The deputy Minister asked Ghanaians to guard against untoward acts and utterances during the electioneering campaign in order to sustain the peace in the country.
He condemned recent disturbances at Badu in the Wenchi district, where the people refused to register during the voters registration exercise and were also reported to have restrained those willing to do so.
“The attitude of the people was an act of indiscipline and must never be allowed to occur again,” he said.
