I’m on my way out of NPP – Ampong

Former Greater Accra communications director of the NPP Michael Ampong has said he is considering resigning from the opposition party following the killing of the party’s Upper East regional chairman Adams Mahama.

He, however, said he will sue fellow party member Kennedy Agyapong for alleging that Mr. Mahama’s death was masterminded by the party’s national chairman Paul Afoko.

“There is 99.9% possibility of me leaving the NPP. I’m tired of the violence in the party that we struggled for.

“Some of us sacrificed so much for this party but today people act and speak anyhow and some of us can’t tolerate it any longer.

“I will be quitting but I will sue Kennedy Agyapong so he can explain the basis for his dangerous accusations against some of our party members,” he told Kasapa FM Friday.

Mr Mahama died at the Bolgatanga hospital Thursday after he was showered with acid by some unknown individuals.

One person has so far been arrested in connection with the matter.
