I’m disappointed in Pratt over Otabil comment – Otiko Djaba

“The tongue of the wise makes knowledge attractive, but the mouth of fools blurts out foolishness”, National Women’s Organiser of the NPP quotes Proverbs 15:2 as her word of advice to Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr.

The National Women’s Organiser of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Otiko Afisa Djaba, believes that Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, has lowered in integrity in the minds of right thinking members of society with his choice of words in recent times.

According to her, politics of insults which appears to have dominated the country’s political terrain over the years should not be directed to Men of God.

She expressed worry to have heard Kwesi Pratt linking the Founder and Leader of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Pastor Mensa Otabil’s intercession prayers to a case of ‘High Fever’.

Mr. Pratt has consistently denied he was referring to the ICGC Pastor when he touched on his allusion to ‘High Fever” and pastors being human, and therefore, vulnerable to all ailments that befall mortals.

But speaking on Adom FM, the NPP’s Women’s Organizer accused the senior journalist of setting a bad example for young up and coming one’s in the profession, and prayed such ‘irresponsible’ behaviour is not copied.

She noted that Mr. Pratt untrustworthiness is now obvious to all and advised him to render an apology to Pastor Otabil, as well as the ICGC congregation.

“I pity Mr. Kwesi Pratt for making such a comment looking at the kind of person he is. What does he (Kwesi Pratt) want in this world for him to have labeled a man of God as suffering from a case of “high fever”? Even if he apologizes, he can’t retract that comment. I don’t, and will never agree with Kwesi Pratt for passing such remarks. Increasingly, Kwesi Pratt is losing his credibility. He is a grown up and must be circumspect in what he says. He should be the one to correct the young ones, not the other way round. Who was more prayerful than the late Prof. Mills?

“…so was he (Late Prez Mills) also suffering from high fever? Pastor Otabil is a mentor and must be treated like one. I used to have a lot of respect for Mr. Pratt, but he is proving to be a disappointment and not being of help to the nation anymore,” she bemoaned.
