In the wake of a brazen public disturbance near a Methodist Church in Ablekuma North, the Inspector-General of Police has issued a decisive ultimatum to the regional police commander, demanding swift arrests of all identified perpetrators or risk immediate removal from office. Several suspects have already been apprehended, with others reportedly seeking to surrender voluntarily.
The Ghana Police Service has launched an intensive manhunt following a violent incident near a Methodist Church in the Ablekuma North constituency, where clear surveillance footage has identified a number of suspects involved in what authorities are describing as a coordinated act of public disorder.
Commissioner of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno, speaking on the matter, disclosed that comprehensive video evidence, including footage from media outlets and private surveillance cameras, has conclusively exposed the identities of those involved in the altercation.
“The individuals responsible have been clearly captured on camera; their faces are unmistakable, and there is overwhelming evidence implicating them,” he asserted. “I have given the regional commander until Friday to apprehend every single one of them. If he fails, I will have no choice but to relieve him of his position.”
As of the time of his statement, several suspects have already been arrested, and others, perhaps recognizing the inevitability of their capture, have expressed intentions to turn themselves in voluntarily.
“Between now and Monday, we expect all those complicit in the Ablekuma North disturbances to surrender. The first few who have reported themselves are already being processed for court,” he revealed.
