The council of IDEAS University College at Fiapre, near Sunyani in the Brong-Ahafo region, has dismissed Mr. Rexy Lovell Mensah as secretary to school’s board of governors. The letter which dismissed Mr. Mensah was signed by the chairman of the school’s council, Daasebre Dr. Amankona Diawuo II, Omanhene of the Berekum Traditional Area.
Reasons for the dismissal include, Mr. Mensah’s failure to render income and expenditure accounts of the university from September, 2010 to May, 2011, his unilateral removal of library books from the school’s library and his decision to set up a rival campus of the university named Ideas University College South Campus, Tsikata House, Berlin Top. Again, Mr. Mensah appointed himself as director as well as business and finance officer of the school without the approval of the school’s authority.
The letter added that despite the reasons advanced for his dismissal, he should note that the management of the university is urging him to render the said account as soon as possible but not later than September 15th, 2011.
