I Will Cause The Greatest Political Upset

The former presidential press secretary, Mr. Kwabena Agyepong has emphatically stated that come what may in December this year, he is set to cause the greatest political upset ever in the history as far as the NPP Presidential race is concerned, adding that the time is ripe for the younger generation to lead the NPP and the nation as well. It is time the younger ones take to inject in a fresh blood”.

He said his leadership will secure a bright future for all people, especially the youth, and assured to put Ghanaians back to productive work. Mr. Agyepong was speaking to reporters in an exclusive interview in Accra yesterday. According to him, he is the only candidate who can lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the next general elections, adding that the ball is perfectly in the court of the delegates and that refusal to vote him as the next presidential candidate for the NPP would cause havoc for the party and the nation as well.

“I think they will do the nation and the party a lot of good if they elect me as the flagbearer in the 2008 elections.” Continuing, Mr. Agyepong challenged the assertion that some of the aspirants especially the young ones seeking the flagbearership, need to undergo a kind of political apprenticeship before seeking such a position.

He said any one should prove him wrong by providing evidence or whatsoever that he performed abysmally in any political position because of his age. “Unless anybody proves me wrong that such a thing has happened before, the issue here is competence,” he bluntly said. Continuing, he said if he becomes the next president, he would not relent on his effort, but rather work assiduously for the e betterment of the nation.
