I am Optimistic About Their Ability To Secure Qualification – Sports Minister On Black Stars World Cup qualifiers

Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has urged Ghanaians to throw their full support behind the Black Stars as the team enters the final stretch of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

In a statement released on Monday, the MP for Buem Constituency expressed strong confidence in the national team’s ability to qualify, describing the coming matches as a defining moment for Ghana’s World Cup hopes.

“Our Black Stars have shown incredible determination and skill throughout this campaign,” Mr Adams said. “I am optimistic about their ability to secure qualification and bring glory to Ghana. With your support through prayers, cheers, and positive thoughts, we can lift their spirits and motivate them to succeed.”

Ghana currently lead their group with 19 points, three clear of second-placed Madagascar and remain in a strong position heading into the final two matchdays. The outcome of the Madagascar–Comoros fixture is expected to be crucial, as it will shape Ghana’s path to qualification.

If Madagascar win, Ghana will only need a draw against the Central African Republic to seal their place at the World Cup. However, should Comoros triumph, the Black Stars will need all three points to guarantee qualification.

The Sports Minister called for unity and unwavering belief across the nation, emphasizing that Ghana’s dream of another World Cup appearance is within reach.

“With faith, collective effort, and the relentless spirit of our Black Stars, I believe they will rise to the occasion and bring honour to Ghana,” he added.

The Black Stars are now preparing for the decisive fixtures that will determine whether they secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
