Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah Confident Black Queens Will Defeat Egypt in WAFCON Qualifiers

Technical Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah, has expressed strong confidence in the Black Queens’ chances ahead of their crucial 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers against Egypt.

Speaking ahead of the tie, Mensah praised the team’s recent performances and highlighted their growing momentum under head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren.

“I believe the Black Queens have what it takes to overcome Egypt,” she said. “The team has shown quality, determination and unity, and with the right focus, they will be victorious.”

The Black Queens, who secured a bronze medal at the 2024 WAFCON in Morocco, are aiming to book their place at the 2026 tournament as they continue their resurgence on the continental stage.

Mensah also emphasised the importance of national support, urging Ghanaians to rally behind the team.
