Homosexual remanded in prison

Accra, May 31, GNA – A 20-year-old trader, who allegedly sodomised a 14-year old boy at Kotobabi in Accra, was Wednesday remanded into prison custody by an Accra Circuit Court.

Godswill Senanu, alias Elli, who was charged for having unnatural carnal knowledge with the victim pleaded not guilty. Senanu is to reappear on June 9.

The case as presented by Inspector Isaac A.A. Ahor is that on May 26, 2006 at about 1820 hours Senanu, who resided in the same vicinity with the victim, went to buy iced water from the mother of the victim Madam Comfort Nkrumah.

He said when Senanu was leaving after he had been served, he asked the victim to accompany him to his house and he obliged. Inspector Ahor said Madam Nkrumah became suspicious about their movements, so she followed them to the house of the accused person where she noticed that the door of the accused person had been locked. Madam Nkrumah peeped through the window and saw Senanu sodomizing the victim.

Inspector Ahor said Madam Nkrumah knocked at the door and when Senanu opened it she raised the alarm, which attracted a lot of people to the scene.
