Ho poly not fit to be Technical varsity– Youth group

The Coalition of Central regional youth is accusing government of kicking out the Cape Coast Polytechnic from the list of the six polytechnics to be converted into technical universities.

According to the group, the Mahama–led government has smuggled the Ho polytechnic which did not meet the criteria set by the technical committee tasked to rate the schools into the list because of political expedience.

Addressing the media at the campus of the Cape coast Polytechnic Monday, the spokesperson of the eight youth groups Richmond Yaw Yeboah mentioned deputy education minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa as being responsible for the development.

He alleged that the former deputy Information minister stated at one of the meetings of the technical committee that he will not allow the Cape Coast Polytechnic to be upgraded while the Ho poly is left out of the list.

They claim that the Ho polytechnic came 8th in the ratings while the Cape Coast Poly was rated 7th by the technical committee that assessed the schools for the migration.
