Ho Poly Basic School to represent region in competition

The Ho Polytechnic Basic School in Ho would represent the Volta Region in a National Information Communication Technology (ICT) competition at Tamale.

The School won the regional event, coming tops among 10 schools and being certain to annex the national trophy in two weeks.

Savana Signatures, an ICT for development non-governmental organization, put the event together to stir-up the interest of school children in ICT.

Pupils of Ho Polytechnic Basic School needed an extra effort to inch above Regional Model and Nyive Junior School in that order.

The competing pupils and schools were given ICT textbooks, exercise books, pens, and pencils with the Ho Polytechnic Basic School taking the trophy.

Mr Prince Kotoko, Volta Regional Programmes Coordinator, Savana Signatures, said ICT had become the order of the millennium and urged parents to encourage their children to explore opportunities in ICT.
