Ho ECG exceeds its revenue target with prepaid meters

Ho, Dec. 04, GNA – The changeover of credit meters to prepaid has yielded good result in the Volta Region with the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) exceeding its target by over 55 per cent.

Mr Theophilus Asante-Darku, Volta Regional Commercial Manager, told the GNA that the company collected GHc51, 344.67 as revenue last week as against GHc8, 625.25 for the same period when credit meters were used. He said before the introduction of prepaid meters, the region especially the Ho Municipality, hardly met its target and described prepaid meters as the “best for the company and customers”. Mr Asante-Darku said the successful introduction of the meters had improved the liquidity position of the company and had improved service delivery. He said the changeover would soon reach other districts.
