Help protect forests – Chief

Jukwa(c/r), Mar 29, GNA – Nana Afrifa Nyamoha II, Chief of Jukwa on Saturday appealed to the government to assist protect Jukwa stool lands from being destroyed.

Nana Nyamoah, who made the appeal through GNA said of late some unscrupulous people in the Jukwa community have been cutting some species of trees which have been planted under the government afforestation programme for sale.

He aid the rate at which the ecology is being depleted would undermine the government forestation programme.

Nana Nyamoah observed that if steps are not taken to halt the on-going destruction Jukwa lands would be turned into desert in not too distant future.
