Help maintain proper sanitation in Obuasi –PM

Obuasi (Ash), Oct 12, GNA – Residents of the Obuasi Municipality have been urged to assist in the maintenance of proper sanitation in all the electoral areas.

Nana Asirifi Asare II, the newly elected Presiding Member of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly, made the call when he interacted with the residents of Sampsonkrom.

The Presiding member, who has already visited Bogobri, is touring all the electoral areas to enable him to be abreast with their needs to assist the assembly to prioritise its development projects. Nana Asare said since the health of the people was paramount it was important for all to help maintain perfect sanitary conditions in the municipality.

The presiding member said the raising of Obuasi into a municipality placed a lot of responsibility on the residents to keep the area clean.

On development projects, Nana Asare advised the electoral areas to initiate self-help projects to enable the assembly to assist them. He gave the assurance that the municipal assembly would undertake more community projects to facilitate the development of the area.

Nana Asare, who is the Krontihene of Edubiase divisional area, used his visit to appeal to the people to ensure peaceful election in December.

“The December elections should bring unity among us and not to divide us”, he said.

Mr. David Kenyah, the assemblyman for Sampsonkrom, said the electoral area had been zoned for effective communal labour activities to improve sanitation in the area.
