Help comes to Hole-in-Heart JSS student

Akim Asuboa-South (E/R), June 2, GNA – Miss Regina Dokyiwaa, a 17-year-old hole-in-heart patient of the Akim Asuboa South Local Authority JSS, was on Wednesday presented with a cheque for 8 million cedis by the Birim South District Assembly.

This followed an appeal made to the Assembly by the Akim Asuboa South School Management Committee to enable Regina to undergo a surgical operation at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

The District Chief Executive, Mr Yaw Amprofi, presented the cheque, which was received on Regina’s behalf by the Assembly member for Asuboa South, Mr Kwabena E. Agyekum.

Mr Amprofi explained that the assembly was touched by Regina’s plight when its attention was drawn to her condition and decided, “to act fast to save her life to enable her to continue her education.” Mr Agyekum, on behalf Regina’s parents, thanked the Assembly for the gesture and appealed individuals and organisations in the district to honour their tax and other civic responsibilities promptly to enable the Assembly to fulfil its social obligations.
