Heavy security in Bawku after burning of NDC billboards

Security in Bawku has been intensified following the burning of some billboards belonging to the ruling NDC’s Parliamentary candidate.

Unknown suspects allegedly set the billboard ablaze on Wednesday, a situation which has raised the political tension in the area.

The Police have however assured of calm and heightened security to avert any unfortunate incident.

The Police Commander for the area, Chief Superintendent, Samuel Alordey says investigations have begun into the incident.

Chief Superintendent, Samuel Alordey in an interview with XYZ News said political supporters have been warned against fomenting trouble.

“It is unfortunate that something like this happened. We are seriously conducting investigations into the incident but they should know that the destruction of party vehicles won’t do Bawku any good”.
