Health Administrator donates sports equipment

Nkoranza, (B/A) March 22, GNA – The Nursing Administrator of the Nkoranza Saint Theresa’s Hospital has donated Sports equipment worth 7.5 million cedis to the hospital’s football team and the Nkoranza St. Theresa Primary and Junior Secondary Schools. The items are made up of three sets of jerseys, two sets of socks, goalkeepers’ pants, gloves and four footballs.

Madam Rebecca Dommo who made the presentation to the beneficiaries at the hospital on Monday said she purchased the sports items from the savings she made while undertaking a health course in London last year. She said because of her love for sports she decided to help promote sporting activities in the health and educational institutions in the area. Madam Dommo commended the Ghana Health Service for awarding her the scholarship to undertake the upgrading course in Britain.

Dr. Kofi Amoako, Medical Officer in-charge of the Hospital received the items on behalf of the management and expressed gratitude to the donor. He called on the staff of the hospital to be devoted to their duties and to render selfless services to their patients. Dr. Amoako urged the staff to co-operate with each other and the hospital administration to help make the health facility continue to render quality health delivery services to the people.

Dr. Wegdam, a surgeon specialist and consultant for Sunyani Diocesan Health Institutions commended Madam Dommo for her show of concern towards the development of the hospital and urged other staff to emulate her example.
