Headmistress petition against transfer

Ejisu (Ash), April 13, GNA- Mrs Gladys Asante, Headmistress of Ejisu Junior Secondary School, has called on the authorities of the Ghana Education Service and the Ejisu-Juaben District Assembly to reverse a decision by the District Director of Education to demote and transfer her from the school.

In a petition to the regional and district directors of education, the Ghana National Association of Teachers and other opinion leaders in the District, Mrs Asante alleged that she was being victimised by Mr Festus Boadi-Suadwa, because he had accused her of being a witch and behind the predicaments of his wife who was her subordinate.

Mrs Asante said the official charge that she had not live up to expectation because of administrative lapses was untrue since she had not been queried or summoned before the District Directorate of Education, adding, there was no evidence to prove her inability to head a school.

She said she felt cheated and humiliated by the decision of the District Director.

However, Mr Boadi-Suadwa told the Ghana News Agency that the Headmistress was being transferred because she had not live up to expectation.

“It is purely administrative and without any malice, he said.
