Harry Mouzalas to be laid to rest on October 16

Accra, Oct. 7, GNA – Harry Mouzalas, former Chief Editor of the Ghana News Agency, will be buried at the Osu cemetery in Accra on October 16.

According to the funeral rites announced by the family on Tuesday, the late Harry Mouzalas will lie in state at his residence at Dansoman, Petroleum Down, from 2000 hours on October 15.

Burial service will be held at the Wesley Methodist Church, Asafoatse Nettey Road, opposite Palladium Cinema house from 1000 hours. Final funeral rites will be at Bamboi Hotel, Mamprobi. Memorial service will be held at the Wesley Methodist Church on October 19 at 0900 hours after which mourners will join the family at the residence of the deceased. Mr Mouzalas, who died on September 22, is survived by his wife and three children.

Mr Mouzalas, a former executive member of the Ghana Journalists’ Association, was born on June 4, 1943. He was employed as a Reporter by GNA on July 1, 1964 and rose through the ranks until his retirement in 2003 as Chief Editor. Mr Mouzalas was also a musician and an administrator of football clubs, who held executive positions in, particularly Accra Great Olympics and the defunct Standfast.
