Hannah Bissiw spurns Bawumia’s analysis of economy

Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, in Charge of Livestock, Hannah Bissiw, has dismissed the gloomy picture painted by Dr Mahamadu Bawumia of the country’s economic outlook.

Discussing issues regarding the economy, Hannah Bissiw told host Tweneboah Koduah that the Mahama administration is working assiduously to improve all sectors of the economy.

She insisted on UTV’s “Adekye Nsroma” that government will continue to construct roads, provide the necessary infrastructure and roll out other initiatives which will inure to the benefit of all.

Addressing the issues raised by the former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, who urged the Central Bank to reverse measures rolled out to halt the downward spiral of the cedi, Hannah Bissiw insisted government is up to the task and making the necessary interventions to enhance the progress of the economy.

As part of measures to alleviate the suffering of Ghanaians, she revealed that the Mahama-led government has begun sharing cylinders to charcoal users to curb the usage of charcoal in the country.

“Very soon, the government will distribute free installed cylinders,” she said, and expressed doubts about Dr. Bawumia’s analysis of the state of the economy.
