GSTS final year student drowns

Master Benjamin Abaidoo, an 18-year-final-year student of the Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS), in the Western Region, got drowned at a beach in Takoradi, over the weekend.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr. Omari Boakye, the Crime Officer at the Marine Police, Railway and Ports, told the Ghana News Agency, on Monday, said Abaidoo sneaked out of campus with his friends at about 0530 hours, on Saturday, April 23, 2016, to a popular beach resort, Allan Beach, near the Takoradi Port to swim.

He said the body of Abaidoo had not been retrieved from the sea, but the Police were still investigating the circumstances leading to the incident.
