Grace Baptist Church award scholarships to 55 students

Kumasi, Sept 19, GNA – The Grace Baptist Church at Amakom in Kumasi, has awarded scholarships to 55 brilliant but needy students of the church to enable them to complete their education.

Beneficiaries of the GH¢15,000 package are students from Junior High School and tertiary institutions.

The Reverend Robert Asante, incoming Senior Pastor of the Church, who announced these, said that the gesture formed part of the church’s social responsibility to the needy. He was speaking at a ceremony to present money to the beneficiaries, which ranged from GH¢250 to GH¢400, in Kumasi on Sunday.

He asked the beneficiaries to study hard to enable them to pass their examinations, to justify the investment being made in their education.

Rev. Asante said the church was obliged to ensure the spiritual and physical development of its members. He called on religious organisations to mobilize resources to create employment for the youth to help reduce the crime rate and other deviant behaviour among young people. 19 Sept 10
