Govt urged to expedite action on implementation of NHIS

Nkoranza (B/A), June 3, GNA- The Nkoranza District branch of the Federation Youth Association of Ghana has appealed to the government to expedite action on the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme.

Mr Patrick Nkansah, Chairman of the Association, who made the appeal at a press conference at Nkoranza, expressed concern that some communities were complaining about the delay in the execution of the Scheme.

He commended the government for appointing Mr Kwame Amporfo-Twumasi, MP for Nkoranza South as Deputy Minister for Education, Youth and Sports and described his appointment as a great honour to the people of the area.

Mr Adu cautioned the youth not to meddle in chieftaincy disputes since that could affect the development of the area. He also advised them not to allow selfish politicians to use them to cause confusion in their communities but they should rather use their energies for the development of the area.

Mr Adu urged traditional rulers to collaborate with their people to initiate development programmes to enhance their well-being.
