Gov’t to distribute 60,000 laptops….

to school children

Government is to distribute 60,000 laptops to basic schools across the country under its computerization project to improve the teaching of ICT.

The project is in partnership with ICT assembling company rlg Communications which also implements the ICT module under the youth employment programme.

Education Minister Betty Mould Iddrissu will launch the project later this morning in Accra.

Ahead of the ceremony she told Joy News her ministry has also drawn up a training program on ICT for teachers in the basic schools.

She said the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology had provided the Education Ministry with some 1,500 laptops which have already been distributed.
