Gov’t terminates contract with RLG

The Government of Ghana has terminated contracts with RLG Communications Limited and other service providers as part of measures to restructure the activities of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA).

A letter signed by Alhaji Abdulai Yakubu, Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports referred to a contract signed on 23rd July, 2012, between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and NYEP now GYEEDA, on one hand, and RLG Communications on the other hand for the provision of services under RLG communications Module of the Agency.

The decision to cancel the contracts according to the letter was reached following a series of meetings between the government and the service providers.

The letter in part read “I am directed to convey to you, Government’s decision to discontinue or terminate the contract with immediate effect.”

The letter also directed RLG communications Limited to continue its engagements with the Attorney General’s Department and Ministry of Justice to refund some amounts to the Government.
