Gov’t must be serious in solving doctors’ strike – Kabila

James Kwabena Bomfeh, former National Youth Organizer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has appealed to the Ghana Medical Association to call off their strike for Ghanaians sake.

Speaking on Peace FM, James Kwabena Bomfeh, also called Kabila; pleaded with the striking doctors to resume work because their role in the health sector remains significant.

According to him, several people begin to lose their lives when the doctors are not at post.

Addressing the doctors’ litigation with the government over their conditions of service, Kabila advised the Mahama administration not to add salt to the doctors’ injury by their provocative remarks.

He noted that some remarks by government officials, particularly on social networking pages regarding the doctors’ strike won’t help convince them to take up their working tools to attend to patients.

So, to him, “government must show seriousness in this matter.”

“Nobody can claim that he’s entirely blameless. How did we get to where we are today and for that matter, you’re telling them if they don’t call off the strike; you won’t negotiate with them? Are you endorsing the status quo for this situation to continue? Even things happen when they’re at work, not to talk of when they’re not at post,” he asserted.
