Government officials test pumping of water

Agona Swedru, Feb 8, GNA – The Member of Parliament for Gomoa East, Mr Ekow Okyere Panyin, and District Chief Executive for Gomoa East, Mr Kingsle= y Ehunu-Armah, on Monday joined officials of the Ghana Water Company to witness the first test pumping of water from the main pipeline to 29 communities in the Gomoa West and Gomoa East districts. Water supply to the communities has been cut since June last year following the destruction of the pipelines by a heavy downpour that hit the area.

Mr Ehunu-Armah appealed to the Electricity Company of Ghana to ensure regular power supply to the Ghana Water Company to enable it to give uninterrupted service to the people. He appealed to the people to ensure prompt payment of their bill to make the company get enough funds to give them quality service. Mr Baffour-Ofosu-Addae, the Agona West Municipal Director of Ghana Wate= r Company, said the company would continue to supply water to the people constantly now that the main transmission line had been restored. 8 Feb. 11
