Government imposes curfew on Kwame Danso

Accra, Jan. 6, GNA – The Minister of the Interior on the advice of the Brong Ahafo Regional Security Council has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Kwame Danso Township in the Sene District with effect from Thursday, January 5 for a week. A statement signed by Dr Benjamin Kunbuor, Minister of the Interior, said the curfew was in response to acts of vandalism by sections of the youth in the town following a protracted chieftaincy crisis. “Government wishes to appeal to the chiefs, opinion leaders and the people of the area to unite and work towards the return of peace,” it added.
