Government commits five billion cedis to skill training

Kumasi, Aug.23, GNA- Government has committed five bilion cedis, as a start-off capital, to support graduates of the national Skills Training and Employment Placement (STEP) programme.

Mr Yaw Barima, Minister of Manpower Development and Employment, announced this at Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region, during the graduation of 50 students who had completed six months skill training.

The graduates, who were presented with certificates, underwent training in food processing, batik tie and dye and soap production. Mr Barima said about 13,000 youth have been trained under the STEP, which was introduced countrywide, a year ago.
