Apam, July 15, GNA – The Member of Parliament for Gomoa West, Mr. Francis Kojo Arthur, has appealed to Ghanaians to be patient and allow the government time to deliver on its campaign promises. He said the rate at which the government was being rushed to honour the promises was not good enough. “Allow the government time to generate enough funds to honour the promises since the kitty is not as good as our predecessors made Ghanaians to believe,” he said when presenting building materials to some youth clubs at Apam.
The materials, costing GHc3, 600, were bought with the MP’s share of the common fund and included roofing sheets, scantlings and cement. They were donated to support the youth to build recreational centres and youth clubs that benefited were Ghana Boys, MNU, Alata Akobirem, The Big Six, Millionaire and Gye Nyame. Mr. Arthur assured fisherman of the regular supply of premix fuel saying the government had put in place measures to ensure constant supply of the product especially during the up coming fishing season. He said licenses granted to some fishermen to engage in pair trawling had been withdrawn and appealed to fishermen to report anyone found engaging in it to the law enforcing agents.
Mr. Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, the District Chief Executive, appealed to the youth to patronize the centres after the day’s hard work to share ideas. He said the government had a lot of plans for the youth so they must rally behind it. Mr. Isaac Quansah, Accountant of the Gomoaman Mutual Health Insurance Scheme, appealed to the youth to desist from activities that could endanger their future such as the excessive intake of alcohol and internet fraud.
