Goil filling station manager granted bail

Tema, July 14, GNA – A circuit court ‘A’ in Tema granted 200 million cedis bail with a surety to be justified to David Sowah Boye Sekou who issued dud cheques to pay for 143 million cedis petroleum products. The accused, a Goil Filling station manager at Teshie, pleaded not guilty to the charge of issuing two cheques that were dishonoured by CAL Merchant Bank and would reappear on August 2, 2004.

Chief Inspector of Police Christopher Quaicoe told the court that between September and November, 2003, the complainant supplied the accused with petroleum products amounting to 143 million cedis.

He said the accused issued cheques to be cashed at CAL Merchant Bank, Accra.

On November 24, and November 28, 2003, when the cheques were presented to the cashier at the bank, they were dishonoured.

Chief Insp. Quaicoe said a report was made to the Community one police and the accused was arrested.
