Ghana’s Ambassador in Burkina Faso safe

Accra, April 21, GNA – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration on Thursday affirmed that Ghana’s Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Chief Dauda Mandiaya Bawumia was safe and had not been subject to any personal attack.

A statement issued in Accra by the Ministry explained that the Mission’s stand-by representational car was seized in a car-snatching incident but it had since been retrieved.

Initial reports said the Ambassador fell victim to attacks by rampaging Burkinabe soldiers and seized his car.

Mutinous soldiers in Burkina Faso also attacked Ghanaian traders at the Ghana-Burkina Faso border.
