Mampong-Akuapem (E/R), Sept. 7, GNA – The Koforidua Diocesan President of the Anglican Women’s Fellowship, Ms Comfort Boateng, has appealed to Ghanaians to motivate women to develop their talents to use them to support the development of the country. She said as women formed the majority of the population they could impact on the country’s development if they were motivated.
Ms Boateng said this when she addressed the 11th Biennial Diocesan Conference of the Anglican Women’s Fellowship at Mampong -Mampong on Saturday. She appealed to women to play their role in society effectively to help reduce some of the social problems facing society such as teenage pregnancy, broken homes, prostitution and poverty.
The Anglican Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese, Rt Rev. Francis Benjamin Quashie, urged members of the Women’s Fellowship to establish special funds to support the poor and the needy in the society. The Guest Speaker, Mr Bernard Budu of the Department of Feeder Roads, called for the revival of effective evangelism in the Anglican Church to help the church to grow. He appealed for unity in the Church and urged the members of the church to pray for one another and start the rebuilding of the church from their individual homes.
