Ghanaians urged to back prayers with hard work

Kumasi, July 18, GNA – The Right-Reverend Dr Yaw Frimpong-Manso, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), has urged the people to back prayers with hard work to enable the country achieve its development goals.

He said prayers and hard work would help to renew the spirit of the people towards appreciating their roles and responsibilities in nation building.

Rt-Rev. Frimpong-Manso was speaking at the dedication of the Bible Study and Prayer Group (BSPG) Training Centre of the Presbyterian Church at Kyirapatre in the Kumasi metropolis, on Saturday. The project was initiated eight years ago and designed to give members a serene atmosphere for prayers and other religious activities to enhance the Church’s growth.

Rt-Rev. Frimpong-Manso charged Church leaders to help members acquire employable skills and also mobilize resources for the development of the Church.

He reminded Christians that the Church could not depend on offerings and tithes alone as a means of generating funds and encouraged the Presbyteries of the PCG to be development-oriented. Rt-Rev Frimpong-Manso was optimistic that caretakers of the centre would be disciplined in conducting their activities to retain the image of the Church.

Mr. Fred Darko, Director of the Centre, commended the leadership of the church for contributing to the establishment of the centre and expressed the hope that the project would help to win more souls for Christ.
