Ghanaian Women in Toronto show gratitude to God on Thanksgiving Day

Gratitude is said to be the heart’s memory. Any act of kindness projected at any given time to any person simultaneously registers in the heart which is considered the centre of emotions. In this vein, women in the Ghanaian community in Toronto from various churches converged at Liberty Assembly of God Church on 139 Milwick Drive, on October 11, 2004 (Thanksgiving Day) to offer grateful thanks to God on behalf of, country Ghana and of Canada as they do every year.

These women are not unaware of Divine mercies in these challenging times that the world is plunged in today. In commencement to over lay Divine loving-kindness over humanity, in time past and present, Rev. Emmanuel Ofori of Ghana Calvary Methodist United Church of Toronto advocated, “Friends, when I look at the proclamation of 1789 by U.S.A. vary Methodist United Church of Toronto advocated, “Friends, when I look at the proclamation of 1789 by U.S.A. and signed by George Washington, I marvel at the awesomeness of God”.

Giving prominence of the fallibility of man in comparison to God’s infallibility, the Reverend brought home the profundity of God’s mercies that have been procured through the cross and rather stirred up hearts that ought to be grateful and appreciative of divine soliciting.

In reflection on the essence of ‘Thanksgiving Day”, Rev. Emmanuel Ofori urged the assembly to re-dial into retrospect and ponder over the present God’s unmerited benediction upon their lives.

“…… and so today as we reflect on this Thanksgiving Day, we begin to thank God for His blessings one be one” he stated.

Praises and worship featured as hallmarks to celebrate and declare God’s unflinching goodness to humankind.
