Ghanaian Muslims commence Ramadan tomorrow

Accra, Aug 10, GNA – The National Hilal committee, Ghana, on Tuesday announced that the new crescent to usher in the Ramadan month has been sighted at Afienya in the Greater Accra Region at 1820 hours.

A statement signed by Shiekh Mahmoud Gedel, Chairman of the Committee, made available to GNA on Tuesday, said “the Ramadan fast commences on Wednesday, August 11, 2010.”

It said all Muslims in Ghana were obliged to commence the fast of Ramadan accordingly, adding “May Allah bless Ghana and grant us a successful Ramadan fast”.
