Ghanaian drug smuggler arrested In Pakistan

Islamabad, July 12, IRNA — The Pakistani Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has foiled a bid to smuggle a large quantity of heroin to the UAE and arrested a foreigner drug smuggler at Lahore International Airport.

According to an ANF source, on a tip-off that the accused Suleman Afriki of Ghana, belonging to an international gang of narcotics smugglers, was taking contraband by flight EK-621 to the UAE, a special ANF team intercepted him at the departure hall of the airport and recovered 2.5 kilograms of heroin concealed in soap wrappers in his handbag.

During the preliminary investigation, the man confessed to being involved in drug trafficking since a long time ago.

A case under has been registered against him and further investigations are in progress.

A number of smugglers belonging to the same gang have been arrested by the ANF during the last few months, said sources.
