Ghana@50: Sydney, Australia

Ghanaians in Sydney, Australia’s largest city and home to the majority of Ghanaians living ‘Down under’ are on track with preparations to celebrate Ghana’s 50th Independence Anniversary. Three (3) major events have been planned to mark the occasion in the State of New South Wales:

Gospel music night – to acknowledge the hand of God in Ghana’s independence. Family & friends day out – informal gathering for a barbeque, games and general fun. Dinner dance – formal event to re-visit our history; cultural performances, dinner and dance (live band & DJ)

Other states have planned similar activities to be held in their respective capital cities. Nationally, the recently re-opened High Commission in the capital, Canberra, will be celebrating the occasion on Tuesday 6th of March 2007. Individuals in Sydney will also be hosting private parties to commemorate the occasion.

Do not miss out on this important milestone in Ghana’s history. To be part of the celebrations, call any of the persons listed on the flyer shown at the above website.
