Ghana Wildlife Society organizes environmental walk

Accra, June 2, GNA – A 93walk and pick=94 event dubbed “Green Cities, Clean Environment” by the Wildlife Society of Ghana (GWS) would take place on Saturday, June 3.

The Society is organising the event in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Environment as part of activities to mark the World Environment Day, which falls on June 5. A statement issued by the GWS said the significance of the event would be to instil in the younger generation the importance of responsible disposal of waste.

“The habit of littering and improper waste disposal is alarmingly becoming ingrained in the people to an extent that requires commitment to the cause of changing perceptions.”

The walk begins at 0730 hours from the GWS Secretariat through some principal streets of Accra.
