Ghana to Benefit From Citgroup?s Financial Education

Ghana is among 100 countries across the world to benefit from Citigroup?s financial education. Under the programme, called Citigroup Financial Education Programme, Citigroup Foundation, will identify, support and implement initiatives that will equip individuals, families and institutions to make sound financial decisions.

Areas of focus under the $200 million programme to be spread over 10 years are personal financial education small business financial education and institutional financial education.

A release by Citigroup said in Ghana, the programme will provide grant funding to support financial literacy initiatives for the youth.

?We look forward to playing an important role in terms of contributing to the skills and knowledge of the youth in Ghana so they can improve their education and make informed economic decisions and achieve success,? the release quoted the Citigroup?s Country Director, Mr. Savior Chibiya, as saying.

The release by Citigroup said in Ghana, the programme will provide grant funding to support financial literary initiatives for the youth.

The release said it was pleased to enter into partnership with the education sector and expressed the hope that it would expand on its work in future under the global citigroup initiative.

Citigroup, a global financial service company, has some 200 million customer accounts and operates in more than 100 countries, providing consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with a wide range of financial products and services. Citigroup is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
