Ghana needs a union government to stop corruption – Pastor

The General Overseer of the Christian Hope Ministry International Church in Kumasi, Bishop Dr. Francis Kwabena Akwaboah has called for a change from a political party system of government to a union government as a solution to corruption.

In a statement released by the preacher to the media on Friday, he said, “Ghana would be heading towards danger and hell if the system that has created very serious problems is not changed.”

“The country is gradually dying in the hands of politicians. This is happening because people have invested their monies in political parties under the pretext to gain appointment when their parties gain power. So that they can take back their monies and its profits.

“People invest their time and all of their energy to stand for political parties, abuse opponents and their party’s opposition without thinking about the danger that their acts are creating. Only to be considered for appointments after election whether they are eligible or not for the post,” the statement said.

Bishop Dr. Francis Kwabena Akwaboah said “politics is breeding, hatred, division, tribalism and confusion in homes, communities, regions and districts. If nothing is done about the situation, I am afraid the nation will be at risk, and the faith of its people along with its future is unpredictable.”

He concluded that with union governance, “there would be no room for winner takes it all, no appointment of favorites, everything will be free and fair and potent people will have access to work on their professions.”

“No political party has helped mother Ghana, and I call for constitutional change from party politics to a union government,” he added.
