Ghana marks second anniversary of Mills’ death

Today, July 24, 2014, marks exactly two years, since the demise of President John Evans Atta Mills, who would have turned 70 on Monday.

The late President, who was nicknamed “Asomdwee Hene” is being celebrated two years after his unfortunate death as sitting president.

President John Mahama and other high-ranking government officials and members of the diplomatic corps are among celebrants at the Asomdwee Park to celebrate the life of the late professor.

President Mahama tweeted his arrival at the venue early Thursday morning to lay a wreath in memory of late President John Evans Atta Mills on behalf of the Government and people of Ghana
