Ghana Immigration Service doles out over GHC60K to ‘ghosts’ on payroll

The Auditor General’s report for 2015 has revealed that the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) in Wa has paid over GHC60K to eight underserving officers.

According to the report, the eight persons whose names appeared on the the service’s payroll were unknown to the management of the department.

The report stated that they received various sums of money to the tune of GHC60,070.67.

They are; Atipaga Abdalla, GHC5,899.13, Afari Lawrence A., GHC10,609.09, Ennin Felix, GHC7,270.97, Koduah Edmond Tweneboah, GHC1,404.83 and Doku Sampson Tetteh, GHC10,456.93.

The rests are; Adam Iddrisu, GHC11,459.97, Adafia Jude, GHC11,736.69 and Kpodo Daniel Kwabla, GHC1,233.06. They were all ranked AICOI.

The amount covers the months of September, November and December 2013, February 2014 to April 2014, July to September 2014, December 2014 and July 2015.
