The Ghana cedi weakened slightly against the US dollar on Friday, 30 October 2026, ending the week at GH¢11.6457 to the dollar on the Bank of Ghana (BoG) buying rate.
The local currency was sold at GH¢11.6573 per dollar, compared with Thursday’s rates of GH¢11.6200 for buying and GH¢11.6316 for selling.
Despite the latest movement, BoG Governor Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama said Ghana’s wider economic outlook remained strong.
Speaking at the launch of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) 2025 Annual Investment Report, Dr Asiama pointed to the cedi’s broader recovery against major foreign currencies.
He attributed that performance to strong external reserves and continued momentum in important areas of the economy.
“These developments have contributed to creating a more stable and predictable environment for businesses and investors,” Dr Asiama said.
He added that national economic growth was becoming more broad-based, supported by improvements in agriculture and services, as well as a continuing recovery in industry.
The central bank expects stronger foreign reserves and the country’s underlying macroeconomic conditions to continue supporting the cedi over the coming quarters.
