GHA assesses progress of road works in Volta Region

Hohoe (V/R), Jan. 15, GNA- Work on the 9.7 billion cedis Hohoe-Jasikan trunk road is to be completed by November this year. The 10-km road, which is undergoing sectional resurfacing is being handled by Somuah Dapaah Construction Company.

Mr Nicholas Dorturmor, Hohoe Roads Manager of the Ghana Highways Authority (GHA) told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview on Thursday that he was impressed with the manner in which the project was being tackled.

He, however, did not say when work on the 7.3 billion cedis on 15-kilometre Golokwati-Hohoe portion of the road, which is being undertaken by Gbewaa Contractors would be completed.

Mr Dorturmor said the two projects were on course.

He was however unimpressed with the slow pace of work on the 17-km Hohoe-Wli road, started four years ago by Kamara Construction. “Work on the road seemed to have come to a standstill”, he said. Mr Dorturmor said lack of equipment and personnel were making it difficult for his outfit to maintain roads in the district.
