Accra, Oct. 6, GNA – The Ghana-German Economic Association (GGEA) fair ended in Accra on Friday with member companies praising Government’s efforts in ensuring high quality standards of locally manufactured products.
Mr Sigfried Sinner, Chief Executive of the Precious Metal Refinery, a locally-based gold and silver refinery, said, “Government needs to be commended for seriously making sure that locally manufactured items, especially in the mineral industry, adhere strictly to internationally accepted standards.=94
He said at the moment, they were working with the Government to ensure that every item of silver or gold manufactured and/or purchased is certified to ensure the right quality, quantity and specification. Mr Stephen Antwi, President of the GGEA, expressed satisfaction with the fair and said it would be expanded to cover more companies and products next year.
About 20 out of the about 100 members of the GGEA participated in the fair, which was well patronized by the public as it offered companies the opportunity to showcase their products and expand their business contacts.
A major business forum under the theme: “The Future of Inter West African Trade and Regional Integration” was organized for the companies mainly to discuss the challenges impacting negatively on trading among member States of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). The trade fair covered areas such was automobile, logistics, food processing, energy, telecommunication, banking services, printing, mining equipment and tourism. 6 Oct. 06
