The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has confirmed that midfielder Kwasi Sibo remains a strong contender for a Black Stars call-up, despite being left out of the latest squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
In a Facebook update posted on Tuesday evening, Asante Twum stated that the national team’s technical team, led by head coach Otto Addo, is impressed with Sibo’s recent club form and work ethic.
“Kwasi Sibo will get his chance soon,” Asante Twum wrote. “The technical team has been monitoring him and is impressed with his work rate. Although they opted to maintain the core team following recent performances against Chad and Madagascar, Sibo is on their radar and will likely get an opportunity soon.”
Sibo, who plays for Spanish side Real Oviedo, has been turning heads with consistent performances. However, he was omitted from Ghana’s squad for next month’s crucial qualifiers against Chad and Mali, scheduled for 4 and 8 September.
